Your email should contain details about your username and how to obtain your password.

Once you have both of these ready login with them on the login page which is found at https://courtauld.ac.uk/wp-admin

On logging in you'll arrive at the WordPress 'Dashboard'. You'll see a quite limited number of areas available to you (and currently a few options on the bar along the top which your account doesn't actually allow you to use).

The 'Profile' option on the left is just for administration of your login account (so to change your login password or email address etc). Clicking on 'People' on the left will list your profile entry which is used on the public-facing part of the website, and you can just click on your name there to go to the edit screen for your entry.

Down the wide area in the centre of the screen you'll find all the existing content as used for your profile (in the sections 'Article Content' and 'Staff Profiles'). These areas hold certain fields and 'What You See Is What You Get' (WYSIWYG) text editors. It should be fairly self-explanatory what relates to what in your profile however you might wish to see how your profile appears in a separate browser tab to compare this too and you can do this by clicking the 'Preview Changes' button found in the 'Publish' box in the top-right of the edit screen.

The WYSIWYG is a simple content editor not dissimilar to something like Microsoft Word, however the way the elements are shown on the front are a little more complex so after making any changes to your content you should click the 'Preview Changes' button which will 'refresh' the preview tab open in your browser and show you how it would look if you decide to update the profile to apply those changes. If they appear as intended then you can click the blue 'Update' button below the 'Preview Changes' button and they will be applied to your page. If they're not what you intended then you can simply leave the page without clicking to update, or use the arrow pointing to your left on the editor which will undo the change made in that section, or you can also click on 'Browse' next to 'Revisions' in the 'Publish' box in the top-right of the screen which will give you a slider to drag back to the previous version of the page and then click 'Restore This Revision' to return to that version.

The profiles are designed to display in a fairly consistent format on the site so please try to keep broadly within the existing content structure for your profile, and please check with the web team before making any dramatic alterations to the layout of your profile content (like adding in tables or supplementary listings or media etc.).

Also the edit screen currently contains a number of boxes (including almost all of those on the right-hand side) which you wont really need to use to edit your content and changing anything on these may result in your profile not displaying on the website in the way intended so if you're in any doubt about whether you should be changing a particular setting please check with the web team first.

If you do have any queries please submit these to the web team email address using the mailing list #website or website@courtauld.ac.uk
