If you've only just made a page and you need to delete it straight away, then that should be fine. Go ahead. See below for how to do that.
If you or someone else made the page some time ago then the two things to bear in mind are that:
- other pages might link to this page
- search engines may be linking to it
- people might have bookmarked the page or be linking to it from external websites
We don't want to lose or confuse people who may be looking for the page so in order to accommodate or 'catch' people who might be looking for that page, it is best if the website team sets up a redirect to either the page that will replace the old one (if there is such a page), to your department's section, or even to our home page if that is the most sensible replacement.
If you'd like a redirect to be set up, copy and paste the url of the page to be deleted into an email to website@courtauld.ac.uk. Please bear in mind that it can take up to 5 working days for us to respond.
When you are ready to delete the page then simply click 'Move to Trash' in the Publish box, in the Edit area.
